small, simple, savvy, steadfast, sharing, sustainable dad alton martin who was partially a Nite …
with his lists which could bite … with well-written letters honed during the ww II pacific fight
and high school english teacher ruth allen … so very bright
then drs. dick ridgway, pete lingren, miguel altieri … always wanting me to write (publish or perish) … and cite
now poet sylvia manning … she’s dy-no-mite
and nephew dr. nathan martin and kin, and seven grandkids who ignite
lifting me in flight
to great heights
like a kite
sometimes smitten with smite
but mostly it gives me sight!
light!!
and at least a perception of might!!!
wishing, probably hopelessly, to enlight
with deep insight in our plights
to fight the good fights
these are why i write
sometimes very late at night
yes! hoping to incite
(and SOMETIMES i wish i could keep it really right & tight!??!)
