With tribes, cultures, languages, traditions, rituals, foods, religions, customs, and taboos;
Differing ethnicities and sexualities, (and blends of such);
The rich, the Haves; the poor, the have-nots; …

My essence has become:

Resilient and sustainable ecological community”.
“Positively ethical applied community ecology”,
Etc., etc., etc.

That doesn’t mean
That I don’t enjoy communicating with others …

Trump should not be looked to as a leader)
Has destroyed: top soils,
Immense quantities of quality waters,
And sustainable systems of: photosynthesizers/
Biodiversity/
Local and global nature.

Democratic socialism
(Embodied by much
Which has happened
In recent times
In Scandanavian countries …
And by Bernie Sanders)
Has been much more moral and ethical,
And easier on the natural resource base …
Leading us to more resilience and sustainability,

And … if given a chance
(After or during robust ecology2 across curricula and campuses
Of all human organizational entities)
Democratic eco-socialism
Has potential to help begin to transform
Eaarth to Earth.

A vision of a small diversified farm,
Struggling for sustainability
In the natural resource rich mountainous area around Siguatepeque.
Of a family that is glued together
After generations, varying economic status and power,
And political changes.

Because of Esmeralda’s spirit
My life was especially enriched.

If only women like her
And Mom Louise,
And Berta Isabel Cáceres Flores,
Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Michelle Obama,
Winona LaDuke, Ruth Bader Ginsburg,
And yes! Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Elizabeth Warren,

Ran the world.

Not many of the male Democratic candidates
For president of the EEUU.

Good women, “saints”
Practicing getting along with all …
Idealistically and pragmatically,
Locally and across the globe …
With healthy doses of the caution and tentativeness.
Developing systems of living the 7 Ss …
Sabiamente, Simply, Smally, Slowly, Steadfastly, Sharingly, Sustainably.
Developing as process of VV->^^2.
Strengthening social fabrics
And dynamic sustainable ecological systems.

Practicing intolerance! … intolerance!! …
Intolerance!!! of War.
Tearing down walls.
Refusing to fund militaries, arms, armaments
At the expense of holistic ecological education
And robust, profound, and comprehensive health care
For all.

Creating pan de elote
For family, friends,

Simply because …
There were a few disruptions of PEACE
In Managua …
At time when the whole Eaarth is disrupted
And desperately needs empathy and healing.

I missed the opportunity
To work in Totogalpa, Nicaragua
At another level
With a very real, knowledgeable, and humane human being!
A wonderful artisan
Of patience and humility.

To learn solidarity and understanding
From a truly fantastic community organizer,
A practitioner of PEACE.

Two very amazing beings;
Elders in the most respectful meaning of the word.

I squandered a chance
To learn with and from
Some wonderful youth
And their steadfast and wise leader,
Who are developing toward PEACE
With tremendous heart
And open minds.

Now I’m here in a bubble
Of Hotel Zari,
Near a beautiful if artificial downtown plaza
And in this moment sipping coffee,
Eating,
Listening to a calming Brazilian sound and rhythm;
Songs in English and Spanish.
Comfortable in my bubble
In Siguatepeque, Comayagua, …
Honduras, Eaarth.

I’m struggling with works,
With aspirations,
With concepts,

Which I hope will culturally

Simply live the seven S’s
And abide by the Second Law of Thermodynamics.
Live an ethic of reciprocity.
Sustainable livelihoods.
Set aside one-half of Earth for “nature”. Practice the precautionary principle.
Open borders … with caution
Protecting the relatively powerless
Including other species.
ALWAYS avoid War.

HOWEVER, …
Though they are there are many roads to Rome
The “Hows?” and the “Whys?”
For sustainability
(Social justice,
Humaneness,
Ecological sanity)
Are especially challenging.
It is very difficult
To modify mindsets, behaviors
Elicited from corrupt experiences,
And corrupted epigenetics
Which soft-wire hard-wired genetics.

First we have to deal with the opiums. Actual opiums.
And virtual opiums–
Available stuff/luxuries/
Inappropriate technologies/
Man-toys from
Mad Men, neoliberal capitalism.
Religion, music, art.
Air conditioning.
Planes, cars.
Big luxurious homes.

Opiums CAN be cautiously used
To maintain,
To exist.
Even to help us progress.
But they can also facilitate
Rampant destruction of:
Sustainable social fabrics,
The natural resource base,
and “nature” … or
Dynamic homeostatic symbioses.

We do desperately,
And especially,
Need Positively Ethical Applied Community Ecology/PEACE
Across the curriculum and campuses
Of all human organizational entities.

Can we begin
To have social and ecological equity
For all
Before we hit the wall
And before we transform
Into a chaos of real
But lifeless equity?

Deep within,
I think not.

But I do HOPE so,
At least for a relatively significant time …
And place

An Earth)

It’s what life is all about.

Virtually ignored by trans-local corporations,
IT, “the” internet, neo-liberal capitalistic algorithms.

Not oceans choking on plastic,
Poisoned (along with lipids of humans and other species)
With DDT, DDE, DDD, and
Other toxic and hormonic-mimic attackers
Of nature/
Of dynamic homeostatic symbioses.

Not the energetically-sound southern long-leaf pine
Climax-ecological communities …
Clear-cut and developed.

Not the dynamic homeostatic Oglala prairies,
Plowed out,
Treated with
Massive amounts of atrazine, 2,4-D,
Trifluralin, glysophate, chlorpyrifos,
And other biocides;
Mined for fossil carbon molecules
Laden with dangerous amounts
Of captured photosynthetic energy,
And potential pollutants.
Mined for rapid-transformation of energy,
To run dying high-input/-throughput systems of human consumerism.
Systems of morally-corrupt decision-making,
And void of True spirituality.
Systems ignoring Truths;
Releasing climate-changing CO2 & CH4
At chaotic rates …
“To keep the dirty lights on”*
And feed our enormous guts
And allow for our various stupid toys
And games of War …
In every sense of the word …
At many levels and
Amounts of intensity, social injustice, inhumaneness, ecological insanity;
“Developed” to keep non-sustainable
Urban and rural communities
On opiate-needles of destructive
Capitalistic “bidness”*.

Not steadfastly proud hunter-gatherers
Of indigenous reservations
And other locales
Across Eaarth.

Not many individuals, demes, populations
Of homeless and others marginalized
In various circumstances
Of socio-economic, political injustice,
In favelas , slums, prisons/
ICE detention and other impoverished areas
Often involving hate and discrimination and bigotry,
Against skin pigmentation, ethnicity, sexual orientation, etc., etc….
In various sectors of Eaarth.

Not the passenger pigeon, western black rhinoceros,
Tasmanian wolf, great auk,
And thousands and thousands
Of other species
Of all Domains and Kingdoms
Of the Anthropocene.

Not the poor creatures of True and real living-systems
Who have been chaotically-destroyed
With all this artificiality.

It’s a zero sum game.
We’re in this together.
All must live according to Wendell*:
